MOSHI MOSHI is a new modern Japanese restaurant at Hotel Metropol located in the heart of St. Gallen. The challenge was to integrate this new style of food in a traditional European all-white interior.
A subtle dark-to-light color concept unites the inner and outer dining room along with some structural measures to open up the walls to the salon and introduce a mobile partition wall so that the room can be closed off for special events. Two new windows open up the view to see the sushi master chef at work upon entering the restaurant. The modern Japanese cuisine is reflected in the modern style of furniture and lighting fixtures down to the Ikebana flower arrangements and the maritime décor.
The new Moshi Moshi branding in Japanese Red greets visitors across the street from the train station and invites them to come up to visit the restaurant on the first floor with Tokyo-style street-lighting signage applied onto a holographic wallpaper.
